Ford and DJI public the challenge of creating Drone-to-vehicle system with Sync 3 -

In this year's CES in Las Vegas, Ford and drone DJI company Developer Challenge announced the DJI. The Challenge goal is quite simple, which is to create a vehicle drone system using F-150 pickup truck, Ford and software aboard Ford Sync infotainment system 3 and a drone DJI.

The system that won the challenge will be used by the United Nations Development Programme to consider places that are difficult or impossible to reach by humans. It will be useful in rescue missions to cities or towns which have been affected by natural disasters such as tsunami, earthquake or flood to accelerate the emergency response to save lives and to minimize the danger of the rescue group. Another use for the most likely system to inspect a very old bridge or monitor forest fires.

The system should be able to control the drone DJI via Sync 3 Ford infotainment system as the basic operation and it should display whatever the UAV sees and as the operator control remotely from within F-150 pickup, Ford should be able to see the same thing that the drone. The data will then should be sent to the cloud for later analysis.

In addition the system will be used by the United Nations Development Program, the winner will receive $ 100,000 reward.
