Modern cars mirrors replaced by cameras in the future -

Modern cars are operated by millions of lines of code to control everything from navigating the infotainment system . One of the latest technologies that are coming in modern cars is high definition cameras. They are designed to replace the mirrors and streaming Car whatever the cameras capture the dashboard inside the car in real time. The technology has already been implemented in some modern cars like Tesla, Volkswagen and Audi.

The challenge now is to change the regulations to allow cameras to replace the mirrors. Federal regulators recently announced that all new vehicles weighing less than 10,000 pounds must be equipped with backup cameras from 1 May 2018. Regarding this, Tesla and the car manufacturers ask the National Alliance Administration Highway Traffic Safety in 1968 to change the rule which requires passenger vehicles to have a mirror on the door and one on the windshield and having cameras to replace them.

argument is that by using cameras instead of mirrors is that the cameras will provide a broader view and could therefore completely eliminate blind spots and increase the energy efficiency of the car will be more aerodynamic. According aerodynamics of road vehicles, Wolf-Heinrich Hucho said exterior side mirrors increases total aerodynamic drag of an average of 2 to 7 percent.

There are also advantages to using rear view mirrors because they are cheap, reliable, durable and easy to replace. In addition, they do not break, do not suffer from latency and they can not be hacked. However, the mirrors offer a limited view.

Nathan Naylor, spokesman Administration National Highway Traffic Safety said the agency took the request seriously.
