BMW was proud that the revolutionary company is still working on creating the ultimate driving experience. In the BMW museum is located next to the old Munich Olympic Stadium site, there is a section that displays the engines which the company has produced throughout the years. Of the screen, we can see that BMW made the engines be more effective years after years and even car bodies evolve in line with ergonomic time. It is more likely that the next BMW product will be an ultimate driverless machine.
Michael Aeberhard, the person leading the team that will carry the BMW car without driver, presented what he seems like a regular 5 Series. However, once he pressed a button near the gear lever, he took his hand off the steering wheel and the car suddenly drove on the road. The car even able to move the tracks in heavy traffic as a truck driven close to the car. It is even able to accelerate to its maximum speed of 0 km. After about 5 years of refining the technology simulator and test track, finally, the car seems to really know what it does and passenger just needs to relax throughout the trip.
Although the technology is almost perfect, there are moments in which to manual intervention of the driver for the unexpected scenario, as roadworks, lane changes or even emergency vehicles. Aeberhard has shown that it can be easily done without effort, as it has done three to four times during the test drive session.
