Roads that can charge electric cars tested in UK -

Electric cars do not travel far. On average, they can make up to 260 miles per full charge before they need to be recharged again. Unfortunately, the charging stations also can not be easily found along the road. Therefore, the alternative is to introduce the routes that are able to charge the vehicle move over them.

Highway England recently announced that they are going to test the load of the ways they have completed early stage of feasibility study. The test tests should run for 18 months, however, there are no details on when the trial will take place. Probably more details will be released after a contractor was appointed. During the tests, the vehicles will be equipped with wireless technology and special equipment will be installed under roads to reproduce the highway conditions. Under roads, electrical cables are installed that will generate electromagnetic fields and then taken by the coil inside the device and then converted into electricity.

Andrew Jones, Transport Minister said the government was already committing £ 500 million over the next five years to keep Britain at the forefront of this technology. Apparently, this kind of lawsuit is not the first of its kind. A stretch of road with a length of 7.5 mile (12km) which is capable of charging electric bus was tested in South Korea via a process called magnetic field resonance form (SMFIR).
