General Motors seems to have a good start in the car business connected. The number of service requests handled by the OnStar service 20 years GM has exceeded 1 billion which means that living agents manage more than 4 million claims turn-by-turn navigation monthly.

General Motors was planning a more aggressive push into high-speed wireless 4G seems to be increasing as the company works with AT & T since last year. AT & T offers a free service for basic connectivity for five years and with that, almost everybody saves, though, General Motors launches new service allowing more things to come.

For the free plan, it includes predictive maintenance alerts, warning drivers about potentially dangerous conditions such as battery problems, starter or fuel pump. Besides that GM also offers monthly diagnostic alerts and move towards real-time alerts to issues such as low oil or tire pressure. Apart from all these programs, GM also offers additional wireless data services that can transform the car into a hotspot that can handle up to 7 different connections. It can be purchased from $ 5 per month.

David Mingle, executive director for the overall customer experience, GM Global Client Connected Experience Group, said that the only thing that made it work was that their leadership was committed to. He added that he did not mean they understood everything but the support was incomparable.
