Sharp has been working on a free-form display (FFD) for some years now, the company presented the prototype at CES this year (Electronics show customers) that held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The device should be released in the automotive market in 2017.

The display is developed using IGZO technology and it can be cut to any shape. It is improving the current display of the car than the current display can be the shape of a rectangle because there is a minimum width for the window to account for the drive circuit that is the perimeter surrounding the screen or display area better known as the gate driver name. The display of the free form need not be rectangular as dispersed through the pixels on the display area, therefore, the size of the telescope can be adjusted to fit any fresh design that can not be imagined before. The best thing is that it uses low power to power up

The only drawback is that there is no touch functionality yet. however, it will be added subsequently. Free form Display (FFD) can be used on other devices such as portable devices with elliptical screens and digital display outside of the car display. As for the car display itself, it can be combined with a speedometer and other monitors.
