Hum is a Verizon device that allow your old car to behave like a smart car. It essentially consists of two main components: a dongle that plugs into the OBDII diagnostic port of your car and a Bluetooth device that clips to the sun visor. The device is capable of generating diagnostics, offers users the mechanic hotline and the Bluetooth phone interface and roadside assistance.

Hum was announced at the International North American Auto Show in January. According to the product manager for Verizon Telematics, Michael Maddux, Hum is a product that is designed for normal people who just want more security and diagnostics for their cars, especially older cars instead of car enthusiasts who as modern cars kind. As it works with OBD II, therefore it is able to be installed in any car model sold in the US after 1996. In addition, he works with iOS and Android.
