Alex eroadster EV, an electric car Irish Most will probably Debut in 2016 -

Tom Finnegan, an engineer who is based in Co Leitrim, came with an electric concept car he named Alex eroadster EV. He started to do so in reality after approaching VITAL initiative funded by INTERREG IVA EU program. It is basically a program that was created to connect innovative ideas for SMEs and entrepreneurs that will hopefully make the ideas into reality. Moreover, we hope it will encourage the start of development projects in Northern Ireland and in the southern counties of the border.

For this project itself, the Irish Centre for Composites Research (ICOMP) and Swift Composites in Louth will be helping to research on the composite material to be used for the car while racing suspension manufacturers Wicklow based TDP will help the car chassis. Danish Ecomove company will help provide useful information on how to make the most favorable electric car consumers.

Alex eroadster EV is designed to be lightweight and strong enough to overcome the challenges that occur on the road, but still able to hold the driver and everyone in the trunk of the car. In addition to this, it should be able to go as far as 300 km on a single charge and it should be able to reach a top speed of 130kph and can go from 0 to 100kph in 10 seconds. The vehicle will be equipped with two AC motors at the rear of the car.

If all goes according to plan, the prototype is hopefully can be completed in July next year.
